NBC Airs ‘Special Message’ From Michelle Obama Telling People to Drink More Water –> Watch here

Michelle-Obama-Drink-Water-Drink the Cool Aid… Whats in the water? Just a general PSA to Americans to lay off the sugar and get lean and mean for a protracted global “conflict” Who knows at this point.

SHARE up if you agree –> There is SO MUCH stupid going on here. We don’t need government AND media nannies telling us to drink more water! Conversely there are millions who do need their role models to prompt them towards action be it good or bad.  Obesity is called an epidemic in America the largest segment of peoples who are classified as obese are African Americans.

FROM THE CDC: http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm5827a2.htm

During 2006−2008, the age-adjusted estimated prevalence of obesity overall was 25.6% among non-Hispanic blacks, non-Hispanic whites, and Hispanics. Non-Hispanic blacks had the greatest prevalence of obesity (35.7%), followed by Hispanics (28.7%), and non-Hispanic whites (23.7%) (Table 1).

These differences were consistent across all census regions and greater among women than men. Non-Hispanic black women had the greatest prevalence (39.2%), followed by non-Hispanic black men (31.6%), Hispanic women (29.4%), Hispanic men (27.8%), non-Hispanic white men (25.4%), and non-Hispanic white women (21.8%) (Table 1).

So all in all encouraging Americans to drink water from a health perspective is a good thing if that waters is “clean” meaning who knows what was unleashed into the water supply, if anything at all other than the usual fluorides and “stuff” lets just say…

It should be no wonder that Michelle is continuing to make her public appeals for healthier eating and “Life Style choices”. They are to be applauded to some extent. Nancy Reagan rallied Americas Youth to Just Say No.  Michelle is saying lay off the sugar.

NBC’s Today acted as if it was an extension to the White House press office on Thursday as co-host Matt Lauer announced: “By the way, the White House is coming out with a brand new initiative today and the First Lady, Michelle Obama, sent us a special message about it. Take a look.” [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]

The First Lady declared: “Hello Today show viewers….I’m working to inspire Americans from all across the country to drink more water. That’s why I’ve stolen Matt and Savannah’s mugs and exchanged them with water glasses. Water is the best and easiest choice we can make to feel energized, focused, healthy, and refreshed….So drink up.”

Here is a full transcript of the September 12 segment:

8:06AM ET

MATT LAUER: By the way, the White House is coming out with a brand new initiative today and the First Lady, Michelle Obama, sent us a special message about it. Take a look.

MICHELLE OBAMA: Hello Today show viewers and good morning from the White House. Today I’m working to inspire Americans from all across the country to drink more water. That’s why I’ve stolen Matt and Savannah’s mugs and exchanged them with water glasses. Water is the best and easiest choice we can make to feel energized, focused, healthy, and refreshed. You are what you drink. And when you drink water, you’re at your best. So drink up.

LAUER: Mrs. Obama, thank you very much.

SAVANNAH GUTHRIE: If you say so.

LAUER: The only problem with that is, she also sent the same message to Kathie Lee and Hoda, drink up. And now they’re not even gonna be here for the rest of the day.

NATALIE MORALES: They’re chugging already.

AL ROKER: They do that without any sort of inclination.

GUTHRIE: They take a different interpretation of that.

LAUER: How much water do you drink a day?

GUTHRIE: Oh, I don’t know.

MORALES: 8 to 10 glasses?

GUTHRIE: Probably – I try to go equal waters to coffee. You know-

LAUER: Really.

MORALES: Wow.

GUTHRIE: No, I don’t know.

ROKER: Which is why we never see her in her office.

LAUER: In on room of her office.

MORALES: I drink 8 to 10 glasses or so. What about you guys?

LAUER: I don’t drink enough. I probably drink two a day. I probably should drink more.

ROKER: I try to drink about eight.

GUTHRIE: Oh, you’re good.

MORALES: Finish it up. Come on, guys, drink up.
